Meet Pastor Mauricio

Mauricio Barahona joined the Christ is Love Staff as the Student Pastor in April of 2022. Mauricio grew up in sunny Miami, Florida. He is committed to creating a Jesus-centered environment for students to grow and engage with biblical truths and have fun in community.

Mauricio has over fourteen years of youth ministry experience, and he desires to have a long career in student ministry, equipping the next generation of students and leaders.

Mauricio married the love of his life, Renee, in November of 2014. They met and served together in youth ministry in Florida. The Barahonas have two beautiful daughters – Averie Luna and Mila Rose.

They love their weekly date nights, fun adventures with friends, and seeing the latest movies and shows on Netflix.

Mauricio savors a good cup of coffee, reading, spending time training Brazilian Jiujistu, and watching any Miami sports team.
